Cold Weather Growing with Miracle-Gro

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

You know, I have learned so much this year about growing herbs and veggies at home.  I’m a proud DIY-er (as you know!) so the idea of growing something in my own garden just makes me proud.

I was really surprised to learn that carrots actually get sweeter and more flavorful as the weather turns cold – did you know that?  In the north (where I live) you should wait to harvest that last of your carrots when the ground begins to freeze.  I had no idea that there were so many Fall gardening projects out there until I checked out the Find beauty in the Fall articles over at the Miracle Gro website.

There are so many great ideas there out there, but I was caught up I was reading up on fall edibles.  You can use Fall plant and feed to help maximize all your fall growing, whoch is specially formulated for annuals, perennials, and vegetables.

I’ve been trying to make an effort to eat more healthy lately – and I spotted a recipe on Pinterest for Carrot Chips.

Looks SO yummy, right?

I love this idea – you just slice them thinly with a veggie peeler, toss them in some olive oil and salt or cinnamon, and bake them.  You can check out the full recipe at Multiply Delicious.

If you are a fall grower, you should definitely check out the Miracle-Gro Facebook page – connect with other green thumbs, talk about your garden, and submit your own photos – they also do fan features, which is a fun way to get your beautiful fall projects some exposure, and check out what others are growing!
