Kids are messy. Like, really messy. It’s probably genetic though, because I’m awfully messy myself a lot of the time? I guess I just don’t sweat it, though, because mess is a part of life! I’d much rather be in the moment, making the mess, than fretting over keeping things spotless any day. (And please curb the laughter over me keeping anything spotless. Ahem.) Delta Faucet’s #HappiMess initiative totally embraces this philosophy. Some of the most fun times in life are messy, and I’ve compiled a short slideshow about what #HappiMess means to me! Can you relate to any of these messes?
At the end of the day, you can always clean up, after all – am I right? And Delta Faucet knows clean! I had the chance in August to visit the Delta showroom in Chicago, and learn about some of the technology they employ in their faucets and their shower products. It’s amazing what they’re doing with the spray to help conserve water while also delivering an effective clean.
The past couple weeks, I’ve been trying out Delta’s Temp2O shower head in my own bathroom, and it’s great! It’s such a step up from what I was using before, and it uses less water! We haven’t run out of hot water since installing it, and that by itself makes me happy, but the extra features really put this baby over the top.
There are 6 spray patterns, and there’s a water-powered digital display that tells you exactly when your water is the right temperature. For the kiddos, you know you’re not getting it too hot or too cold, and for the grown-ups, you don’t waste so much water waiting for it to heat up. (Like in my husband’s case, for entire minutes before getting in… gah.) With less water used all around, that means everyone gets a hot shower, even back-to back.
You can learn more about the Temp2O shower line on Delta’s website, and explore the whole #HappiMess concept, too! Because as great as it is doing something messy – getting clean after a day well spent should feel great, too.
Delta Faucet is also offering one lucky reader a Temp2O shower head or hand shower in the finish of their choice! Now through October 20th at 11:59 pm EST, you can enter the giveaway via the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck!
Why do people treat mess like it’s a bad thing? It’s actually the evidence of a life well lived. When you’re out there making, creating, doing and playing, embrace your #HappiMess and let Delta kitchen and bath innovations help clean up so you can do it all again tomorrow.

Thanks for the giveaway…our kids “accidentally” let the dog inside the living room once, which just happened to coincide with a rainstorm combined with a landscaping project in our backyard that left the pooch covered head to tail in mud; by the time we wrangled the dog we were all covered in mud.

About 6 months ago I bought several flats of strawberries to make jam. My Dad has diverticulitis so I was cooking some berries down to make him jelly (no seeds!). When I went to take the one-and-a-half-steps from stove to counter to strain the berries…. here comes two fighting kitties…. crash! Boom! Berry goo everywhere! Those cats are darned lucky I love them!

one of my favorite Happi-Mess stories is when my kids decided to make me breakfast in bed. I know they had good intentions even if the kitchen looked like a mini cyclone hit it. (which it did!) To see them standing before me, covered in pancake batter and sticky Maine maple syrup was quite the sight, but my breakfast was certainly delicious.

We always had a house full of cats, but one year we had an elderly cat who was having some litter box reluctance after a uti and a new kitten at the same time (among others). We got a special litter that was supposed to make cats want to use the litter box, filled the box up and oops! left the bag in the bathroom in a corner. We came home from shopping to find out the kitten had spent the time while we were away happily making a zen “sand” garden all over the floor of the bathroom with the luckily unused litter. We took pictures before we cleaned up, how could you not!

For my daughter’s 16th birthday party, she had an icing fight in our kitchen with her friends. They decorated cookies. With the leftover colored icing, they had an icing fight. It was hysterical. I caught it all on video. They had the best time. Also, I was the coolest mom because none of the other moms would ever allow this is their home (Score 1 for me :)

My happy mess story was the first time I made yummy blackberry jam from my own blackberries. I’d never made blackberry jam before and, obviously, didn’t think it thru. I was wearing a nice white shirt when I started mashing the berries. Moments later I realized I was now wearing a polka dot shirt… blackberry drops everywhere. Oh well, delicious jam and lesson learned, I now wear dark blue when making blackberry jam!

When my now 4 year old was just learning to walk, he figured out how to get into the baking CABINET. He found and opened the can of coco powder. It was like following a treasure map of coco powder hand prints and smudges to find the messy baby at the end. I still laugh over the photos.
