All right, I have a great giveaway today for the DIY-enthusiasts! D. Lawless Hardware is giving away TWO $50 gift certificates to their online store!
I had the opportunity to work with a few of their craft line products, and I can’t wait to show you what I’m doing with them! I’ll be sharing tutorials this week, but let me give you a preview of what I’ve been working on:
Personalized Coat Rack – I made this to match Raya’s new bedroom set: Disney Fairies. :) The knobs spell out her name and have little pictures of Tinkerbell. I just used Mod Podge and 1″ round glass tiles to personalize this piece.
Dressed-up gift box – I was really excited to try my hand at designing my own knob with the make-your-own knob bases! I Mod-Podged some fun springy scrapbook paper to a plain box, and added a perfectly-matched knob. I used a glass cabochon, but you can make anything into a decorative knob. Stones, coins, marbles… I keep having more and more ideas, so be on the lookout for future projects. ;)
This project isn’t mine, but it’s on my to-do list with the casters I got from D. Lawless Hardware. Creative Carmella added casters to a vintage crate she found. Isn’t it awesome?
You can visit Carmella to check out the full tutorial with more adorable photos. I’m still on the lookout for the perfect crate or box for our house – I’m sure that Raya would love to have a mobile toy unit.
These are just a few of the projects I have underway, but D. Lawless hardware has a huge line of knob and pull bases designed specifically for *us* – the true DIY-ers! I want to highlight a few of the most innovative offerings.
If you enjoy painting and glazing, you can paint and fire your own knobs. Really! (And if you don’t have the equipment to do it yourself, you can see if a local artist will fire them for you or you can visit a paint-your-own pottery studio.)
If you work in glass, these pull bases are designed to accommodate a fused glass piece:
Maybe you’re more like me, and you enjoy a little more general crafting. These are the bases I used for Raya’s coat rack:
Or you can make your own unique knob with a base like I used on the gift box:
And all you have to do is drill your base of choice to finish off these hooks! I’m thinking of making Kevin a golf-themed hook by drilling a pair of golf balls:
D. Lawless Hardware has a lot more finished parts, pieces, pulls and knobs, all really reasonably priced. These are just a few from their DIY-line that I haven’t seen anywhere else, and almost all of the elements I highlighted here are available in different finishes. Especially if you dabble in furniture/thrift rescues, you will LOVE their site!
**If you place an order, be sure to use coupon code happyhour at checkout for 10% off!**
Now that you’ve seen what they’ve got to offer, enter the giveaway! There will be two winners each getting a $50 gift certificate from D. Lawless Hardware! Just enter in the Rafflecopter form below – good luck!
