Today is day 1 of 30 Tips for a Great Start with Team Kellogg’s! Kellogg’s cereals have been a staple in our house ever since I was a kid. If you read my post last week, then you know – I actually grew up near Battle Creek, so we’re “Team Kellogg’s” all the way. ;) Anyway – I’m really happy to be kicking off the Tips for a Great Start series today. I’ll be sharing a few tips we employ in our hectic household using our favorite cereals with you in the coming weeks – so stay tuned!
Today’s tip comes with a fun little challenge: how many healthy snacks can you pack for your family in a minute?
I love having Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats when I get hungry mid-morning – I actually like them more without milk than in the bowl! They are a much better alternative than anything out of the office vending machine, and it only takes a few seconds to put a serving in a baggie or bowl to take with me to the office.
Moms also know, hungry kids do NOT love shopping, banking, recycling, or any of the other stops you have to race around making. Packing a snack just in case is like insurance to get things done! I get out the cereal boxes and pack up a bunch at a time, and store them in in the pantry in a plastic bin.
It literally takes just seconds to grab one for my purse, for the diaper bag, or even as a mid-morning snack around the house. Raya is allowed to help herself to ONE bag – which also helps avoid potentially messy situations like this:
Don’t think I don’t see you under the table, little miss!
Keeping things quick and easy helps the whole morning start off on a more productive note (and I don’t have to tell other moms how great that feels). Ohhhh I love that you have a bin of them ready to go for Raya to grab on her own! I can’t tell you how many times one of the kids has gone to grab a box of cereal and dropped it or knocked another one over and made a HUGE mess. I really should have thought of a better solution, than grumbling every time I have have sweep up the cereal mess, on my own. lol
I’m off to make some baggies up for the kiddies snacks! :)

Let me guess… the entire top of that cereal box got ripped of in the name of getting to the cereal in spy mode??! Makes me smile- gotta love nostalgic things that warm the heart, be they cereal or whatever else :)

Yeeesssss to the Fruit Loops and Mini Wheats. I love Mini Wheats so much. They were always my “Camping cereal” that I would choose before we went on a family trip.
(That’s a great snack idea for lunches. Mr. Suburble is brown-bagging it now!)

Adrianne, I used to do the same thing with my kiddos when they were little! These are great for trips to the park, the zoo, oh…everywhere!

I always packed cereal snacks when I was working!

I totally need to do this. I never think I have enough time to pack something healthier and end up going with something not so healthy!
