My daughter and I are headed out of town this weekend on a girls’ getaway (well, I’ll be doing some work, too, but it’s mainly a weekend to play!) and part of our emergency plan is talking this week about what she should do if we get separated.  It’s also part of our plan for her to keep important contact information with her, and of course, I’m giving it to her in style!  Today I’ll be showing you how to make a hand stamped necklace for any occasion – and ours just so happens to be an emergency contact necklace that’s perfect for girls.  (Well, boys too, if your boys will wear one!)
Of course, I don’t expect her to need it. Â But, it makes me feel a little more at ease since we’re going solo, and she loves her special new jewelry. Â I designed a stacked floral theme for this piece – it’s got a few pieces to it, so that there’s plenty of room for the important stuff, and it stacks so that it’s still private at a glance. Â Someone has to be deliberate in reading it for it to reveal personal information, and my contact info is on the backside.
If you’re a seasoned stamper, then you’ll just need the following supplies to make this design. Â (You can shop these affiliate links to buy the supplies, if you’re ready to make a purchase!)
- Steel Bench Block
- ImpressArt Brass Stamping Hammer
- ImpressArt Lollipop Letter Stamps
- ImpressArt Lollipop Number Stamps
- ImpressArt SoftStrike Pewter Blanks – Large Square and Flower
- Acrylic Paint Dabber – Black
- Polish Pad
- 15mm Jump Ring
- Little Leaf Bead & 4mm Jump Ring
- Cable Chain Necklace (14″ for little girls)
Now, if you are not familiar with metal stamping, I’ve got a quick video to give you an overview. Â I’m not using any fancy techniques today – no eyelets, no charms, no enamel – just basic stamping and stacking to create a sweet piece.
Now, if video isn’t your thing, then feel free to check out my beginner’s metal stamping tutorial for step-by-step photos I shared back when I was getting started about 4 years ago.  Another option, if you prefer to print and read at home, is to download my free 33-page e-book.  Just click here to subscribe to my free daily newsletter to get it!  Metal stamping is not as intimidating as it first looks, I promise – my daughter is only 4, and she already enjoys it!
I stamped the backside of my pewter black first with my contact information. Â The Lollipop font fit everything I needed. Â The backside reads: Call my mom, Adrianne, and lists my cell phone. Â The front side reads: If I am lost, my name is Raya. Â The flower says “Emergency Contact” and I topped it off with a little metal leaf bead to finish the floral motif. Â I really like how the whole piece turned out – it’s stylish while being totally functional!
Mostly, I love that I can whip up a charm or a pendant for any occasion, in just a few minutes.  Thanks for checking out today’s project!  I’ll be out for a few days (obviously, haha) but I will catch you again early next week for some more crafty goodness!

As usual I really cannot thank you enough for encouraging me to soon get started on projects.
I have been unsteady with hands- maybe I could sell it as artistic/creative work – do you think I would get away with that. To answer my own question dont think so. I am hoping with all the investment made I will become well enough to do it. Thanks Adriannne
