Happy New Year and MORE Oreo Pops!

01/01/2012 Adrianne Surian 16 Comments

All right, I’m sure you’re all tired of seeing my Oreo Pops.  But they’ve been so highly requested and I only have time to make so many things – and besides, they turned out so pretty with the purple and silver trimmings this time around. :)

So, the Happy New Year version:

This batch came about because when I sent some into my husband’s work for Christmas, they were all gone in less than 5 minutes.  The other bartender never got one, so naturally my husband promised him I’d make more.  I am sure some mamas would be a little irritated at that, but frankly, I love when anyone enjoys the things I make!

Since we’ll be out and about this weekend, it’s fun to give a little something to people in the service industry who get stuck working and waiting on us.  I probably wouldn’t give total strangers homemade foodstuffs, but my husband knows a lot of restaurant people, so it will be nice to have a little something for them to let them know we appreciate them!  I just printed out some tags that say Happy New Year and wrapped the pops up individually.  Now that I have my technique down, I made 3 dozen pops in about 40 minutes, and took another 40 minutes making them pretty.  In case you missed the original how-to, the original post is here.

Happy New Year ~ I hope 2012 is a
wonderful year for you and your families!
Adrianne

I could never get tired of these…they just taste so yummy. Funny thing is I dont just eat Oreos plain, they dont appeal to me that much unless they are dipped! Happy New Years! You do have this down! They look fabulous!

I really love how these look, and thanks so much for caring about the service people. People seem to forget that somewhere someone is always working. I love your oreo pops and have to try them one day.

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
