Nursery Art

Looking for Freestyle Friday?  Link up here!
Yesterday I posted a blanket I made for my friend’s baby.  I sent another little gift along for her ocean themed nursery that I’d like to show off too!
I mentioned when I made Raya’s Art Gallery that I ordered a vinyl decal.  Well, I also added one for Miss Sierra’s personalized nursery sign.
I decided on purple.  I really hope it matches.
First, I painted the frame purple with acrylic paint, and finished it off with a spray sealant.
While it was drying, I put the center together.  I wanted a sandy-looking background, so I found a sand scrapbook paper.  After deciding AFTER I applied the vinyl to the Art Gallery that I wished I had a different background, I decided to apply the decal to the top of the glass.
That way, if I changed my mind, I could always slip a different background paper in.  Or, if Courtney thinks it looks too beach-y and not ocean-y enough, she can swap it out for something that looks more like water.  A linen look would probably also look really cool.
So I applied the decal, and used my Amazing E-6000 to adhere a sand dollar and starfish to the glass as well.
Once the whole thing was dry [insert impatient checks here], I put it all together.  I really like how it turned out.  Courtney, I hope you do too!

I link to these fabulous parties!

I love things beachy, islandy, or oceany. Yes, I made up all those adjectives. LOL This has practical applications in any room, so I love this project and will be making one soon. :)
Thanks for the visit & follow. Following you back via GFC.
