I have had the chance to try the new Philips Sonicare PowerUp Toothbrush for a week now. I have been debating the upgrade from my manual toothbrush to an electric toothbrush, and when I read that the Sonicare PowerUp delivers a month’s worth of brush strokes in a day, I really wanted to see if it made a difference. Because, my friends, I might honestly be behind by that much by now.
Gross, right?
Well, you moms know exactly why I say this. I just had a baby 6 weeks ago. That tends to throw off your routine. You don’t even get to go to the bathroom when you want to, or finish a cup of coffee, or eat an actual meal sometimes… much less can you count on a good morning-and-night routine. What I’m getting at is… in the past 6 weeks, there are mornings I didn’t brush because I was hoping 3 am was NOT when I was starting my day. There are nights I didn’t brush because I probably couldn’t tell you my own name, I was too tired to remember anything except where my bed was. I’m getting back in the swing of things now, but seriously, I was starting to feel gross! And that is just something you just can’t seem to catch up on.
Except I think I got as close as possible, with the Sonicare PowerUp.
Really, my teeth feel as clean to me as when I finish up at the dentist. I feel so, SO much better about my whole mouth, now that I have used this toothbrush for a week. Not that I’m about to skip going to the dentist, but I think I can face mine a lot more confidently. He might not even be able to tell that I had a rough time there when Roman was just a few weeks old. ;)
And besides, it’s not just about taking care of my teeth – when you are a parent, the example you set for your kids is just as important.
The Sonicare PowerUp is just rolling out in stores now. It’s battery operated, and it’s available at Walmart for under $20. That made it affordable enough to entice me. I mean, toothbrushes keep evolving (in fact, here’s a cool video that shows how far we have come!), and I just keep sticking with my old tried-and-true. It was about time for a change!
You don’t have to just take my word for it, though. Sonicare wants you to see their new toothbrush for yourself – so they are giving one away today to a Happy Hour Projects reader!
You can keep up with what’s new by following Sonicare on Twitter and Facebook, and be sure to enter to win! The giveaway is open to my U.S. friends and ends 9/19/13 at 11:59 pm EST. Rafflecopter will walk you through the ways to enter below! Good luck ~ I LOVE mine, I think you will too!

I have always used a manual toothbrush. If it really does perform as it says it does, it makes perfect sense to make the switch.

I use a boring toothbrush that probably doesn’t do a great job because i tend to get lazy. My dentist recommended an electric toothbrush for my kids, so I’d love to give it a try to see if my brains jiggle out. ;)
