Tips to Start Out GREAT With Kellogg’s!

01/02/2014 Adrianne Surian 22 Comments

The way we start out in the morning sets the tone for the whole day – so getting a great start is SO important!  As a working mom of an infant who is a total morning person (and a toddler who is most definitely NOT), it’s a challenge to get everyone on the same page before it’s time to run out the door.  When people hear that I have a full-time job in addition to the blog and the kiddos, the one thing I hear most often is, “I don’t know how you do it!”  Well, I’m teaming up with Kellogg’s this winter to share our tips for starting our days out great – even with so many things going on!  From preparing for those hectic mornings to eating right and staying active, stay tuned in the weeks to come for some of the ideas and recipes I use to manage our mornings!

We are a Kellogg’s family.  You see, I actually grew up near Battle Creek, Michigan, where Kellogg’s is headquartered – so I have actually been to the Cereal Festival, I’ve seen Tony the Tiger in person, and I’ve had cereal at the world’s longest breakfast table!  Kellogg’s brand cereals were a part of my childhood, so this partnership is especially exciting to me.

Next week I’ll be sharing easy ways to keep snacks on-hand to make those on-the-go days easier.  You know the ones: kids to drop off and pick up, errands to run, places to be – and not much time to get it all done.  You’d be amazed what you can pack in just one minute – be sure to come back and check it out!

Kellogg’s® believes that From Great Starts Come Great Things®.  So we’re helping Moms start every day with a tip from the top athletes of Team Kellogg’s™and Team USA dietitians.  The thirty days leading up to the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games will each feature fun pieces of advice to help families fuel just like the athletes of Team Kellogg’s. Cereal is a mainstay at our home. A bowl of cereal when nothing else sounds good is often a quick and easy dinner, too.

You know I looked for some, I couldn’t find any! It was WAY before the digital age. Now that my dad is gone I would bet they are packed safely away in a box somewhere. I really wanted to show you all photos of me missing teeth as a kid, and Tony the Tiger!! Haha!

What is a cereal festival? My hubby would be one of the first in line to check it out (he’s a cereal fanatic)!

And I have to admit, there’s something so good about a late night bowl of cereal. Yum!

I’m really looking forward to your up-coming tips! My goal this year is to eat healthier, and I think breakfast is the most important meal of the day! I’m looking for the highest fiber with the most protein cereal that still tastes good!

I love Kellogs and like you it was a staple in our home as a child. My favorite cereal when I was kid was Kellog’s corn flakes. ( I still love them. )

Starting the day off right , with breakfast, is a big goal of mine this year. I’ll be following your series!

Cereal is a great quick breakfast…great for an on-the-go mom with little ones! It’s also a great way to have a “restaurant” in the morning….everyone can “order” their favorite cereal! Also, what fun it must be to attend the cereal festival!

My hubby’s aunt used to work for Kellogg’s in Michigan! We are totally dependent on cereal in the mornings, too. I take a bowl to work and eat at my desk since I have to leave so early, but Kellogg’s has so many options, I never get tired of it! Looking forward to seeing what you share Adrianne!

I’m a big fan of cereal in the morning but my hubby likes it for a late night snack. The kid in me will always love Froot Loops but as a grownup now I switch it up with Smart Start more often- I love it! (and who can resist the family favorite Rice Krispie treats?!) YUM!

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
