Put a word to your wish, or just wear a little bit of inspiration:
I found these little word beads at Michael’s and they were just perfect!
For these, start with three strands of hemp about 16″ long for a bracelet-length. You’ll want to go longer for an ankle-length bracelet – between 18″ and 20″. You can also use cotton cord, it doesn’t have to be hemp – whatever you happen to have on-hand, or like the looks of. You just want it to be fairly thin so that the beads will fit.
Tie a knot about 1/4″-1/2″ off center. Thread your word bead onto the center strand.
With one thread going over the top, and one going under the bottom, carefully tie another knot on the other side of the bead. Keep the threads as snug as you can.
I decided to braid each end to finish it off, but you could easily just be done here without the additional braiding, and tie them on loose. That’s it – I told you this one was a simple idea. :)
What word would you choose?

I found the word beads on Beadaholique.com if anyone is interested. They were a great price, $1.39-$1.99 and they have a great selection of words. I am not sure what size was used for this project but the beads on Beadaholique are 8X5mm

How did you finish this bracelet?
Adrianne says
Just an overhand knot, I made these as a tie-on. A glue-on end cap would work nicely too in about a 3mm size.

Love the idea, got the stuff, but I can’t keep the charm from flipping around :(
Julie says
I can’t’ seem to tie the word charm tight enough to keep it from flipping around :(

They are just adorable. Thanks for sharing.

I think it's just called an overhand knot? Where you take all three strands together and knot it? It's tough to get it snug on the opposite side of the bead until I did it a few times.

I love simple jewelry like this! I used to wear beaded hemp ankle bracelets all summer until I started getting bruises from my muck boots. I may have to rethink my no ankle bracelet policy for these!
Thanks for linking up at What's Cluckin'!

I'd like to try using cotton on this one. I think it will be much softer and much nicer to wear.

This is the greatest idea. I think that they could almost be used as affirmations or to help you get through a tough day. That's a lot of value in a simple sweet bracelet.
Kelsey says
I love these!! Too cute! And I am a complete idiot, I've been in such a habit of linking up my wish necklace that when I clicked on the blog hop info to submit my blog I typed in Wish Necklace rather than my blog name. I'm so sorry! As soon as I submitted I realized what I had done… I'm blaming it on it being early in the morning..

I am officially in LOVE with these, but can I ask you a question? I cannot find any of these supplies at my Michael's, can you suggest anywhere else to find these or the large hole beads and pearls? Thanks! I really like your stuff.
