Framing Up Fall Fashion With VSP Direct

I’m so thankful that VSP Direct has sponsored this post and set me up with in individual eye care insurance plan!  Since making the leap from working my day job to working from home to spend more time with my kids, insurance has been a touchy subject.  I’ve never been responsible for getting my own insurance before – it’s daunting!  I had VSP Direct coverage through my old job, and I was thrilled to learn that getting an individual plan is easy and affordable on my own.  My glasses can last me another year… but honestly?  I’d like something new.  I mean, just like you get new shoes or a new handbag because you love the style – new frames give you a new look.

Fall, to me, is the start of the new fashion year.  Maybe it’s because I love the pieces so much (I’m SO much a jacket fan!) or maybe it goes back to “back-to-school” shopping when I was a kid, but it’s always when I pay more attention to what’s new and re-evaulate my style!

I’ve been checking out some of the new styles now that the weather is cooling down, and I put together a few collections I’d LOVE to get my hands on this fall.  I’m loving the leather accents this year, especially!  I love this smart combo:

I just wish I had an occasion to wear an outfit like that – these days I live in jeans.  Not that I find that to be a bad thing, of course!  This is actually a lot more like my “real” style.

It’s pretty cool that these days, designer frames help you stay on-trend.  (I remember back when I was a kid – not so much the case!  Haha.)  And the fact that you can get insurance for your fashion eyewear is pretty awesome.  Because, like my other few expensive tastes,  my taste in designer eyewear can be in the hundreds of dollars.  With a plan from VSP Direct (which is now available in every state), you can get the look from top name brands – while keeping things a lot more affordable.

Let me share a few things I love about VSP Direct Coverage, which I’ve had personally for a few years now:

  • Your eye exam is covered with a low co-payment
  • You get an allowance for glasses or contacts, and there are fully covered lens options
  • It’s 100% satisfaction guaranteed, with a typical savings of over $200
  • It’s the largest doctor network in the industry with over 30,000 participating providers.  Including the doctor a quarter mile from my house.  You may have one that close, too!

You can also PIN TO WIN a free year of VSP Direct Coverage by entering the “Frame Your Fall Look” Sweepstakes!  Just visit VSP Direct on Facebook to get entered (and good luck)!

Now… all this talk about frames makes me realize – you guys have probably never seen me in mine!  I guess I better show you – these are last year’s glasses:

Are you surprised to see me in glasses?  What do you think – are they still “me”, or is it time to update?  I was browsing a few new styles for the season, and I kind of have my eye on these cute bebe frames.  I’m having trouble deciding between the plum accent, or the classic black – I’m really embracing a lot brighter colors this year than in years past, but at the same time… purple everyday?  I’m torn.

What do you think, yay or nay on the pop of color?

You look good in glasses! My MIL got a plum colored set last year and really liked them. She was apprehensive at first bout wearing a purple color every day (she’s very conservative when it comes to style) but she is glad that she got them now!

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
