Hey friends, hope you’ve had a great week! I’ve been busy overhauling our main bathroom (YAY!), finishing up my latest mosaic (double YAY!) and organizing my studio (well, 2/3 isn’t bad, haha) so today’s project is going to be the kind we ALL love: quick and easy. You can make this design in just 5 minutes, and best of all – you can personalize it any way you like.

I’ve been so immersed in art this past week or so, that I just couldn’t help it when I spotted these letter beads. They’re perfect. You can slide them onto any cord (or cords) up to 10mm wide, so I used 2mm round leather for this project and I finished it off with a glue-on closure. So really you barely need anything in the way of tools – you just cut and glue to make today’s project. I’m going to give you links to where I found my supplies at Goody Beads below. They’re affiliate links, which means if you decide to click and make a purchase, then it supports my blog at no cost to you – and thank you, by the way!

For today’s leather word bracelet I used the following supplies:
- 1 m (about 36 inches) of 2mm round leather cord in mint green
- Slider beads for 10mm leather
- Magnetic heart clasp
- Leather cutter (you can use scissors in a pinch, 2mm leather is easy to cut)
- Super New Glue

First, cut your 1m of leather into 5 equal pieces, 7 inches long each. You can make them as long as 7 1/8 inches if you like, since 1m is roughly 36 inches. Don’t go longer than 7 1/8, though, or you won’t have a long enough length for your 5th piece. Add a few drops of glue to one of the clasp ends, and glue the leather in. You will need to hold it in place for about a minute while it dries enough to move on. If you’re not a fan of the heart, you can pick up any clasp that’s suitable for 10mm flat leather. I just like the magnetic closure and the price point for this particular clasp!

When the glue has dried enough that your cords will stay put, slide your beads onto the cords. It’s a snug fit, but that’s a good thing – it means your letters will stay where you put them instead of sliding around. Then, make sure all 5 cords are even, and trim them up if they’re not all exactly the same length (some of mine were off by 1/16 of an inch). Then, add a few drops of glue to the other clasp end, and glue it on to finish your bracelet.

Your glue will be dry enough within a minute to set it aside to finish drying fully, and within about 10 minutes it will be ready for wear. It’s a great way to express yourself, and it makes a great gift, too.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
