Personalized Subway Art Style Valentines

Today’s post is more of a what-I’ve-been-up-to than an actual tutorial.  I did make up some simple subway-art-style Valentines, so I will show those to you, but Subway art is *everywhere* and a lot of bloggers do it a lot better than me.   But these save on ink, and *I happen to think* they are cool. :P

Subway Art Valentine

You may be wondering what’s up with all the handmade valentines around here this year, and the reason for it is a great little valentine exchange I signed up for over at Create.Craft.Love!  44 bloggers and crafters are mailing valentines to each other this year.  I made up a few different versions to send out, and here’s the last of my designs to help keep things simple.  After all… 43 Valentines is a LOT. ;)

Subway Art Valentine

You’re welcome to download these and use my design if you happen to like these, it’s a Word file and you can change the name at the bottom to your own, of course.  Or maybe it just inspires you to create your own Subway Art-styled cards!  Anyway – it was a way to keep the cost down, because after postage, the last thing I want to do is spend more money on the cards themselves.  The printable prints 4-to-a-page on regular cardstock and it doesn’t drink your ink like some of the other gorgeous printables out there. ;)

(If you want to make this a folding-card instead, just highlight all the text on the left side of the page, and change it to white.  That will keep it from printing, without changing the columns.  Then you can just cut it in two instead of 4 cards, giving you a top half and a bottom half that you can fold.)

My stack of valentines are ready to hit the mail tomorrow, and I’m so excited because I’ve already received one. ;) It’s so awesome getting mail that’s not bills or junk!!

Subway Art Valentine

Did you make any valentines this year, or are you still planning to?

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
