Unbreakable DIY Duck Brand® Duck Tape Ornaments

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love getting crafty with the Duck Tape!  Duck Brand® Duck Tape is available is so many prints and colors, including the new-for-the-season penguins, snowmen, seasonal sweets, and holiday bows!  I made up some quick and easy unbreakbable ornaments – because I have an enthusiastic toddler "helping" me decorate this year.  Do you Duck the Halls?  There are so many things you can me with Duck Tape – let me show you how to make these easy ornaments!

All you will need is Duck Brand® holiday patterned Duck Tape, a pair of scissors, a standard hole punch, and some ornament hangers.

First, unroll a strip of Duck Tape, leaving it face up on your work surface.  For each ornament, I used an 18-inch strip (for larger or smaller ornaments, you can use a different length of tape – experiment, and see what you like best!).  Unroll a second strip of tape, and stick it to your first strip with the sticky sides together.

Then, cut this strip in half to make two 9-inch lengths, and then cut it vertically to make skinny strips.  Lay out three strips for each ornament in a star-pattern.  Cut a small piece of tape to attach them together – to do this, all you need to do us bring each end of the tape up to create a ball shape.

When you bring all the ends up to create your ball, secure the ends with another small piece of tape.  This will be the bottom of your ornament.

Now, turn the ball over to find where each of your three tape rings intersect.  Punch two holes close together through all the layers of tape.  This is where you will add your wire ornament hanger, to hang your ornaments!

Make as many as you need – they are easy!  My daughter loved that she was allowed to touch them as much as she wanted to help decorate.

Great idea! My daughter has her own tree in her room this year, and she is obsessed with Duct Tape, so this would be the perfect decoration for her tree!

LOVE this! We are all about the unbreakable ornaments! It turned out so cute, and Raya looks so pretty looking for the perfect place to hang it on the tree. What a great way to get the kiddos more involved!

Girl – you had me at “unbreakable”. We’ve already suffered a casualty this Christmas… and the tree isn’t even up yet!

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
