Happy Independence Day!

4th of July is my absolute favorite holiday.  It’s when summer is still getting started, there’s barbecues and fireworks, and relaxing with my family and my friends… I’m so looking forward to a great day today!

If you were hoping for a tutorial today, I actually have one over at Bear Rabbit Bear Crafts!  It’s part of her Christmas in July series going on all month.  Stop by and say hi!

Mrs. Fox’s Sweets and I have had a fun Red, White and Blue linky going since Memorial Day for all your patriotic projects.  I love the holiday link parties – and you all seem to, too!  Some of the links with the highest click-through counts have seen over 100 visits already!  You can browse ideas from all of the holiday-themed link parties this year by clicking on the Holiday Ideas navigational tab – so be sure to come back for more inspiration this fall and beyond!

The linky will be open through tomorrow at midnight, so there’s still time to add your projects to the collection.  Feel free to grab a button for your hall of fame if you link up just for being part of the collection!

There are so many creative and delicious things shared already, and I’d like to feature a few of them!  Since today is already the 4th, I decided to focus on things that you might still have time to whip up today, before your picnic or party.  If your celebrations continue on through this weekend (mine don’t, I’m back to work tomorrow) there are some more really amazing ideas below!

Make your dip festive! Hungry Happenings will show you how!
Free Printable from Amanda’s Parties to Go for dressing up Hershey Kisses
Red White & Blue Earrings from SevenAlive
Dipped Strawberry Cupcakes at Bird on a Cake
Red White & Blue Fruit Salad at Family Ever After

Red White and Blue Shake (perfect on a HOT day) at Will Cook For Smiles
Stained Glass Jello at Julie’s Eats & Treats
And this last one doesn’t look quick and simple to me (unless of course you are Trish at Sweetology and can make really insanely fabulous things) but you gotta give some love to School House Rock!

I’m Just a Bill Cupcakes at Sweetology
So take a look around, enjoy the ideas, and link up anything you’ve made for the holiday – and have a great day today!  (and to my Canadian friends – I’ll just say, Happy Wednesday and I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Canada Day on Monday!)

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
