Hey friends! How are your holiday plans shaping up? I hope you and your families are well, and in fact, that’s what I want to talk about today: wellness during this busy time of year. It’s been especially important this holiday season to keep the germs away so that everyone can enjoy the festive time of year, make great memories, and spread love, not germs. We have supplemented our regular medical care with AmWell’s telehealth service, and it has been a great alternative for some of our urgent care needs. (There’s even an AmWell coupon code at the end of this post, in case you arrived here searching for one!)

If you are a regular reader, you may recall that not only are my children growing like weeds, but my mom was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. She’s doing extremely well, but with cancer and chemotherapy comes a more delicate immune system.

My kids are more careful than many, now that we have talked about how important it is to cover their coughs, wash their hands frequently, and not share cups or utensils – especially at Grandma’s house. But at the same time, kids are kids! And this week at their school, we were in the office and heard that there were TWELVE kids out sick – in just one classroom! They play. They share. And… they share germs too.

We all know this, though. Limiting germs is great, but it’s not totally fail-safe either! There’s always something that comes up (and so often, during the busiest times) that requires a trip to urgent care. You know the times I’m talking about… it’s 9pm on a Friday night, the kids have been cranky all day, and you finally got them to sleep. Then, one gets up with a fever, or starts coughing, or has an upset stomach – while the other is sound asleep.
I’m a single mom, guys. Dragging both kids out into the cold just to sit in a waiting room is a special kind of torture. Situations like this are when I’m thankful for AmWell, because it’s perfect for this type of 24/7 urgent care situation. One kid just wants to sleep, and the other just wants to feel better! You can also use AmWell for treating other non-emergency situations, like cold and flu, sinus infections, rashes, and other minor issues from anywhere with the app. That means you can do it at home whenever getting out is difficult (hello Michigan blizzards), or even when you’re staying with relatives out of town.

You can be ready for whatever urgent care issues come your way by downloading the AmWell app on your mobile device, or visit their website at your computer to use this exclusive AmWell coupon code for Happy Hour Projects readers: Get 25% off your AmWell doctor visit by using code Amwell25. This discount does not expire, so please bookmark, pin, or share this post with your friends to get your discount next time you need non-emergency urgent care!
As always, friends, thank you for reading about what my family and me are up to these days. I wish you all health and happiness as we celebrate the upcoming holiday season.

Thank you for sharing a good and useful article.
This is one of the best and highest quality articles I have read today.

It sounds effective. I will refer to your post more.
But hand washing isn t always an option when sinks or bathrooms aren t readily accessible. In instances where soap and water are not available, the CDC recommends the use of an alcohol-based hand sanitizer to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to those around you. Due to the friction of the wiping process, independent research has shown hand sanitizing wipes to be more effective than gels alone at removing germs from hands.
Your mom is adorable (and your children also). I can’t believe everything you have been coping with, but I’ll be praying for your family’s health.
