Oh my goodness, friends, I’m a bundle of nerves today! ArtPrize 2014 voting begins today, and I’m IN IT! I’ve shared a few teasers on my piece, “tree at dawn”, and I have a little video about how – and why – I made it. If you haven’t heard of ArtPrize before, it’s the biggest open art competition in the world, with over a half million dollars in prizes. Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan is pretty much transformed into one huge venue (made up of over 100 individual parks, museums, and businesses) and each smaller venue curates their own collection of art to display. This year there are over 1500 entries that were accepted into the competition, including mine!
It’s on display at San Chez Bistro and voting begins at noon. I’m certainly not expecting to win – there are some amazing pieces entered. But it’s awesome to be part of the art this year!
If you’ll be in Grand Rapids for ArtPrize, look me up – and please VOTE! Only voters who register at the event may vote, but if you can’t be one of them – there’s still one quick thing you can do to support my art!
