Hey friends! Â I’ve got a bright and cheerful project to share with you today that comes together quickly (my favorite kind of project)! Â You can make these bead and leather bracelets in under 10 minutes, which is a great way to get your craft on for a girls’ night or just on your own to wind down and relax. Â Because they require wire and just a few beads, it’s a great project for sharing supplies and tools. Â You just need enough leather and a clasp set for each bracelet you’re making.
I originally shared this design on the Consumer Crafts blog, Crafts Unleashed! Â I had so much fun sharing it over there there, I wanted to show it to you guys, too. Â :) You can find all the supplies you need by shopping Consumer Crafts, and I’ll include links to the products below in case you need to do a little shopping! Â I happened to use a rainbow of stone beads for the DIY leather bracelet design I’m sharing with you today, but you can use any kind of beads that you love! Â Use softer, more muted colors for a natural look, or add a bit of sparkle and shine by trying out a few crystal beads.
Supplies needed to make your own DIY leather bracelet:
- 18-Gauge Silver Plated Copper Wire.
- 7mm x 4mm Stone Rondelle Beads (5-6 per bracelet).
- Round Nosed Jewelry Pliers.
- Wire Cutters.
- 2mm Leather Cord (16 inches per bracelet).
- Small Glue-on Hook and Eye End Clasp Set.
- Jewelry Glue.
I was smitten with all the colors of these beads, so I ordered several strands, including an assorted strand.  Most of the beads in the rainbow design came from the assorted strand – everything except the red and the blue beads.  I just want to give you fair warning that if you’re planning to buy all the colors to re-create this bracelet, you’ll want to pick up the assorted strand, red, and turquoise to be sure you get all the colors.  You can of course mix and match to make your own color scheme, too.
I’ll be walking you through some basic wire wrapping with this quick video, which is less than 10 minutes from start to finish to complete each step!
This is so awesome. These bracelets are very colorful and eye-catching. I can make them easily. I enjoyed it when I made them. I made some ones to give to friends and family. They love these bracelets very much. Thanks a lot!

Hi! :) This is a really cute bracelet design! I had a question about the glue-on clasps–would they also work with the plastic type cording (not the stretchy kind)? I didn’t know if the glue would hold as well when using metal to plastic.
I loved your tips on design and making things balanced–thank you for sharing those!!
If you’re talking about like faux-leather type plastic, yes, you should be just fine! I have even used plastic tubing in conjunction with this glue and it has worked well.
