Burlap-Accent Gift Boxes

Good morning!  I’ve got a great paper craft to share with you today that you can do on the cheap!  You just need a sheet of scrapbook paper, a bit of burlap and hemp or jute twine, and optionally, some floral accents to make up these rustic-look gift or favor boxes.  They’re perfect for DIY weddings (and $1 each, or less, depending on the accent that suits your theme) and with a different color scheme, would also be great for birthday parties – or even as gift boxes for small gifts.

You will need a gift box punch board to assemble these, and I shared a video yesterday over at the Consumer Crafts blog, Crafts Unleashed, about how quick it is to put these boxes together, and give you some decorating ideas!  (Because, in addition to writing here, I’m also on the design team there!) If you want to know more, just head over to the DIY Gift Box post to check it out.

Now, if you just want pretty pictures of these fun gift-ables today, then of course – please enjoy. I looooove how these turned out.

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
