Creating Your Own Space at dio.com

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of dio for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I spent entirely too much time this weekend playing with a fun new site, dio!  Dio allows you to create a virtual place to express yourself.  You can create a space in memory of a special day (like a wedding or the birth of your child), a place (that Disney trip you just took!) or express your interest and hobbies.

I created a place to showcase some of my favorite DIY jewelry creations.  Because you can organize your place into several rooms, I could break down some of my favorites by category – creating rooms for stamping, wire wrapping, resin, woven pieces, beads and charms – all the techniques I enjoy the most!

Want to come take a little tour?  Come follow me at dio!  You can check out my space here!

While you are there, creating your own space is simple.  Just name your space, add rooms, and add objects to each room.  Your rooms can exit to other related rooms.

If you enjoy gardening, you could have rooms for your tools, for your flowers, your vegetables, and places to showcase what you do with those things.  Do you make recipes from your home-grown veggies?  Do you  arrange fresh-cut flowers?  Do you just enjoy your flower beds?  Show it all off in your dio place!

You all know how much I love sharing my projects, so I created my place to celebrate all things jewelry-making.  It's easy to do and I love how clean and organized it is to put different obkects into your rooms.

Now is a great time to check out dio, because if you do, you have a chance to win a $100 Amazon giftcard – perfect for adding something to your real-life space!  This giveaway is open to active dio members.  Here's how to get entered to win:

Visit dio, create a place, then come back here and leave a comment with the email you signed up with.  If you connect with your Facebook account, it will be the same email you use to login to Facebook.  Note, only active dio users are eligible to win.

Second optional entry – tweet a message tagging @dioplaces and use the hashtag #discoverdio.  Come back and leave a comment with your tweet URL.

Izea Media will handle winner selection and gift card distribution.  Check out the full Contest Rules here.

Simple, right?  If you create a space, be sure to let me know!  I'd love to come check it out and follow you there!  Don't forget to Like dio on Facebook – and enjoy your own place!

I signed up but something is wonky with the ToS agreement page and it won’t let me get passed it. If it worked, it should be under brittany-wilson@uiowa.edu OR shadowmoonsedai@gmail.com. I’m never sure which one Facebook is using at any given time.

I signed up with this email and created a room for food. This post was really helpful, because I haven’t quite figured it out yet – but you gave me some ideas on organizing that I will have to try.

I tried to take a tour of your rooms, & that worked. But, whenever I tried to change the project from what was showing I couldn’t. What am I doing wrong? Also, can you post things you find online ( like pinterest) or is it only for things you upload yourself?
    Thanks for any help.

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
