Easy Valentine Paper Heart Wreath

Are you getting ready for Valentine’s Day around your house?  Looking for an easy decor idea?  Why not make a sweet paper wreath – it’s easy enough the kids can even help!  You can choose classic Valentine colors, or make up a wreath to match your decor – the key is to use lots of different sizes and a few different shades and textures.

Valentine's Day Heart Wreath at www.happyhourprojects.com

I love using paper on this foam base, because it’s lightweight enough to hang anywhere indoors – and the sky is the limit for what you might want to add!  A special Valentine note or some ribbon are beautiful additions, but a few dozen hearts on their own are enough to make up a really pretty decoration!  I used my Sizzix Big Shot to quickly die-cut these shapes – so you could create the same look with more than just hearts for any holiday or season.  Shamrocks, flowers, stars, leaves – this basic design is easily adapted.

I’m sharing the full tutorial over at the Core’dinations blog, so stop by, check it out, and say hello!

This paper heart wreath looks super cute and easy enough for kids to help with, which is always a plus! I like the idea of using different shades and sizes of paper hearts to make it pop. It’s cool that you can adapt the basic design for other holidays too, like using shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day.

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
