I celebrate my birthday by treating myself by booking a day of beauty (massage, facial, etc) and an evening of art/music appreciation (ie – opera, theatre, movie, concert, etc). Friends/significant other are always invited!

We always have a family celebration – dinner or picnic, etc., usually a celebration outing with my husband, a dinner/movie, a weekend away, a hike someplace, plus my girlfriends always have breakfast together and that includes flowers, presents, and lots of laughter!

    Oh, what fun!

The older I got, the more I realized that every day is a Gift!… Every birthday a blessing!…
    Age itself?… Just a number!

My children and grandchildren gather together to celebrate birthdays (if at all possible!… If someone is out of state or out of the country, technology helps us be “together”!!)… And ice cream cake is *always* part of the festivities!!
A family outing is usually involved, too!… like a cookout, or a picnic, a walk along a beach, or a hike through a state park, or a visit to a botanical garden… Or,…. ???
It’s the “being together”, that is the important thing,… that we need!
    Thank you!

My husband & I usually go out for dinner my kids are grown now but 2 out of 4 loved to bake, so either my daughter or my middle son would make a cake. My daughter would have bought a cake mix but my son would go through my cookbooks until he found a cake he liked & would make that.

First of all, I thank God that I am having another birthday! Then my husband and his mom who’s 94 years young, take me to my favorite restaurant for dinner! Our two girls live a couple of hours away with our grandchildren and they will usually call and sing HB to me! It’s usually a wonderful day!!

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
