It’s Pi Day, 3.14!

Yes, I’m a nerd.  I am not even embarrassed about it.  Yesterday I posted a book page project for a little literary craftiness, and today I’m embracing math by celebrating Pi Day – 3.14!

And what better way to celebrate Pi than… well, with pie, right?  Yum!

Pi Day Pie

I picked up a couple of Marie Callender’s frozen pies for my family.  My favorite kind of pie is Key Lime – my husband loves Peanut Butter.  Marie Callender’s has both flavors (and many, many other flavors as well, including fruit pies and and even pot pies)!

Pi Day Pie

They were a hit in our house – and both the Peanut Butter and Key Lime flavors that we enjoyed are just thaw-and-serve, so not only are they really yummy – they are super easy (you could pick one up today to celebrate, too – no baking required!)  Even Raya got to try a tiny slice.  (She’s in her dad’s camp – peanut butter, all the way!)  I am not a Peanut Butter Pie fan, personally, but my husband loved it all the way down to the chocolate cookie crust.  I thought the Key Lime was awesome, though!

Pi Day Pie

It’s funny how everyone has such different tastes, but we all seem to agree that pie is awesome!  I’m a huge fan of fruit pies, personally.  I was really curious to know what everyone else’s favorites were… so I polled on Facebook earlier this week to find out.  63 friends weighed in with their favorites:

Pi Day Pie Chart

(Of course it’s a Pie Chart… what else would it be??) ;)

If you’re thinking about pie now, too, be sure to print your $1.50 off coupon for Marie Callender’s Pie anytime right now through March 21 (coupon expires 3-31-13).  If you’re looking for any Pi Day activities to do today, be sure to check out the Marie Callender’s blog for party ideas, how-to’s, and more!

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
