Hey friends! Â I have recently moved, so it’s been a busy start to the summer! Â And, sadly, I’ve downsized, so I have had to make major adjustments to my studio space… which is now also my bedroom. Â Sigh. Â It’s ok, though! Â The new house is plenty awesome, and everyone is enjoying the change of scenery! Â The biggest challenge, though… keeping the small space organized and clean. Â I used to be able to close the door on my mess and forget about it, but in a smaller space, a small mess can take right over. Â I’ve made it a habit to clean up after every craft session (with the help of a bit of Clorox Cleaning Spray and Viva Paper Towels), and you know what? Â I am loving that my space stays clean and tidy. Â I thought I was going to be lost without the space in my old studio, but all downsizing has meant is that I change my habits a bit.
If you work with paint, decoupage, mixed media, or any of the other crafts that can get messy, then you know that having paper towels on-hand is not just handy, but absolutely essential.  From wiping up little mistakes to cleaning your hands before you touch your phone, camera, children, or coffee – it’s all just part of the process!  And at the end, I finish up with Clorox Cleaning Spray, put my supplies away, and that’s how I’m keeping my space clean and tidy.
Downsizing has meant a few things… I clean more often, and I’ve made several trips to Walmart lately!  My little helpers are usually at least half the reason for buying cleaning products, but they love helping with the shopping.  Because of that, we haven’t been taking full advantage of Walmart’s grocery pickup service yet, but I know there will be days I need it! If you haven’t heard – you can order fresh groceries online with Walmart and enjoy the same in-store savings with free pickup, and Walmart will even load your car. Check to see if it’s available in your area!
For even more savings, my sister referred me to the Ibotta app, and it’s been awesome getting rebates on the things I’m already buying.  If you’re using Ibotta (or if you sign up!) you can save on both Clorox at Walmart and Viva Towels at Walmart.  You can also save $.50 off any Clorox Clean-Up Cleaner + Spray varieties Starting 6/21, and save $1 off any Viva Paper Towels 6 pack or larger starting 7/5.
Shop for them on Walmart’s bundle page to save more! (Note: Ibotta offers cannot be used in conjunction with the bundle savings.)  And saving money is important to me, because moving is expensive!  The great thing about these savings is that it’s on the products I love – I’ve been using Clorox Cleaning Spray for years because it’s specially designed to clean and disinfect stains on so many kinds of surfaces (with 99.9% germ killing strength, I might add).  You don’t end up with anything left in the bottle that you can’t use because of their Smart Tube Technology®.  Viva Towels are soft and strong (which can be really important when you’re rushing to clean up a big mistake!) and I change them less often with 40% more Viva per roll* on the Big Rolls.  (*Towel area compared to Viva® Regular Roll.)
So, it’s been a challenge to get my space organized and ready for work while also not allowing my room to look like it has exploded with craft supplies, but I think I’ve got a good system down, finally! Â You can expect to see more creativity coming from me in the coming weeks and months now that I’m settled in.
Thanks for joining me today!  It’s about time to go disinfect the tablets with my Clean Squad of Clorox and Viva for a road trip to enjoy Independence Day festivities.  Wishing those of you who celebrate it a safe and happy 4th!
nice post
looking good
Oooooh! That last picture really piqued my interest! Whatcha makin’? :)
I’m so sorry you had to downsize and lose your craft room! I went through the same thing many years back. We ended up moving again and now I have my dream room, but I still remember what it was like when my dresser was bursting with yarn and fabric and my closet was filled with paper. It’s not the best. I wonder if you could put shelves in your hallway. I wound up putting a pretty wooden file cabinet in my hall and it holds a lot of craft supplies.
Anyway, good luck! I can’t wait to see what you create!
Nice post
Nice post. Thanks for sharing this post.
Hi, I love making jewelry and I just recently received some 20 gauge aluminum wire. It really doesn’t seem to harden after pounding it. The wires are all different colors. Do you have any ideas for using this smaller gauge wire?
It helped me so much! Thank you ?
superb post
Hi Miss A. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your new home and liked the tips for crafting in a smaller space. I too have had to down-size so I empathize with you. Here’s wishing you a safe and happy 4th. as well. Betty Dalton
