DIY Halloween Shirt – Freezer Paper Tutorial

10/03/2011

As much as I would like to dress Raya up appropriately for the Halloween season, I just can't see spending the money on a shirt she is going to wear once, maybe twice. So I decided to give the freezer paper method a try - and I am HOOKED. I love how easy this project is! She has a creepy spider ...

Marilyn Monroe Retro Pillow

09/29/2011

All right mamas, it took all month for me to get to it, but my retro-themed pillow is done! I joined a challenge by sew la vie! and Ricochet and Away! with some other fabulous ladies this month. The theme was a quilted and/or appliqued pillow with retro squares. It's a great way to try out some new ...

A New Frock For My Lady…

09/28/2011

Ever since I re-did my craft space, there's been one thing on my to-do list to pretty it up. My ever-faithful Singer, Ella Stitchgerald, needed a new frock (aka, dust cover). Instead of going out hunting for the *perfect* fabric (because I don't know about you mamas, but that never seems to work for ...

Witchy Mantel Display

09/27/2011

I am right in the midst of several projects, most of which are not done yet. (Sound familiar?)  But one work-in progress (decorating for Halloween) got a decent start over the weekend with the beginnings of a witchy mantel display: I know it's not terribly original, but it's been SUCH a fun project. ...

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
