Brighten Things Up With a Secret Color Giveaway

So, it’s no secret if you’ve ever spied that profile photo on the right sidebar, I’m a bright-color kind of person when it comes to my hair.  Not everyone can add bright highlights, I know – it’s a big commitment to bleach and dye and re-color and not use the nice towels… so I was really intrigued when I saw the Demi-Lovato inspired line of temporary hair extensions, Secret Color.  They sent me a few colors of extensions to review and to share with you, and they’re sponsoring a giveaway today so that you can try out a bright color for yourself this spring!

Secret Color Temporary Color Hair Extensions Review and Giveaway at www.happyhourprojects.com

First of all – I LOVE the blue Secret Color extension.  It’s by far my favorite of their colors – and that’s mainly because blue is a really tough color to dye your hair!  The extensions come in pink, blue, red, and purple, and they’re 14 inches.  My hair is about that long, so it didn’t actually give me much of a boost in the “extension” department, but I do love the peekaboo color.

Because they’re so easy to put on and take off, they’re a great choice for a date night or a special occasion, or even game day if they match your team’s colors.  It’s adding attitude without committing to those fashion colors.  I can tell you right now – when my stylist adds fashion highlights to my hair, they only last 5-7 shampoos.  Yep, about a week.  The rest of the time, those panels she colors are blond with a hint of pastel pink.  Now, I don’t mind that, but on days when I’m going for the “wow factor”, I want my color to be fresh and vibrant.  Secret Color is a huge win for those occasions.

Are they for everyone?  No, probably not.  If you wear your hair pixie-short, these aren’t for you.  And while they do blend well with longer hair, more hair means more retained heat – ladies, you already know this.  You get a great thick look, but I can tell you right now I’m not wearing one of these to go out dancing!  But if you’ve ever thought, “hmm, I wonder about bright highlights…” DO IT!  It’s a great way to try a fashion color with zero commitment, and the price point allows you to pick up one in every color for probably less than one trip to your stylist.  They’re easy to put on and surprisingly comfortable to wear – I’ve even got a quick YouTube video to show you how to put it on.

Secret Color is also offering one lucky U.S. reader an extension in the color of her choice today.  You can enter now through Friday, April 3rd at 11:59 pm EST. Just leave a comment below letting me know which color you are most interested in trying out (you can check them out on the Secret Color website), and then claim your entries on the Rafflecopter widget!

Purple, purple. Oh, but I love the blue as well. I have curly hair. I wonder how that would work? I sure want to try it! I love having interesting hair. Everywhere I go on my little adventures, it’s always me and my hair. That’s because any little thing blows it all over and it gets messy and quirky curly so quick I just have made it part of myself. There is always one awful selfie called “Cheryl and her hair’ when I go somewhere worth taking pictures of. Pictures are my way of creating a record of what I do. Good or or bad, if it tells a story, it;s kept, I love it. Makes me laugh.

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
