Shopping at Walmart – I’m in the Mood To Bake!

Thank you to Unilever for sponsoring this post.

You know… I don’t really consider myself that savvy of a shopper.  Does that surprise you?  I guess I just don’t have the time to compare all the ads and drive all over town to chase down the best deals.  I make my list each week for our essentials, sit down with my husband and daughter and enjoy a Sunday breakfast, and if anything on our list happens to be in the coupons, I’ll clip them.  But mostly, we focus on one or two stores to get what we need for the week, and really just worry about getting in and out and getting to enjoy family time.  A lot of the time, that means a trip to Walmart since I don’t have to sweat chasing the sales – I know I’ll get a good price on everything on my list.

I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!

I’ve been meaning to get around to making Monkey Bread for a while now, so having this chance to partner with Unilever (the makers of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!® and Country Crock® spreads) gave me the perfect excuse opportunity to indulge in the cinnamon goodness. ;) We had to pop in to Walmart for some kiddo-essentials anyway this week – we buy the Parent’s Choice brand of diapers, and while Raya is making an effort on potty training, we are still stuck buying overnight diapers for a little while.  But since I’m there so often, it makes sense to take advantage of the great prices on my grocery items at Walmart, too!

For Monkey Bread, I needed to pick up sugar, brown sugar, refrigerated biscuit dough, and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!®.  I also use cinnamon and apples in my recipe.  I’ll be sharing that soon, so be on the lookout!

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!® is made with 70% less saturated fat and 30% fewer calories than butter and doesn’t contain cholesterol or hydrogenated oils – which means 0g trans fat per serving. And just like I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!®, Country Crock® spread also has 70% less saturated fat than butter and 30% fewer calories.  And both are available right at Walmart, making it easy to pick some up as you do your weekly shopping there!

I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!

Stay tuned for my recipe, I can’t wait to share with you!

Adrianne

Cooking your favorite recipes using Unilever buttery spreads is a deliciously smart move. With 0g trans fats per serving, less saturated fat and fewer calories than butter, cholesterol-free spreads are a better option.

I bake all the time lately when I’m bored. Had NO IDEA that I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter came in sticks…that would be perfect for measuring for cookies! I’m totally going to get some next time we’re at Walmart!

At my house we still eat only the real thing when it comes to butter…but…I still have a lot of this “baby” weight sticking around…hummm….Maybe it’s time for a change!

I’m getting a virtual nudge…think I’m going to have to bake something. P.S. I use the pump spray version on my morning toast. It’s good.

Hello, and welcome! I'm Adrianne, an artist, author, designer, and blogger in mid Michigan. I work from home, chase my two kids, and this once-city-girl is learning how to care for chickens and adjusting to life out in the country. I have a compulsion for daily creativity... sometimes it's jewelry-making, paper crafting, metal stamping, mixing and baking, or giving new life to recycled items. But with 2 young kids, time is short! My goal here at Happy Hour Projects is to share projects and tips that you can do in an hour or less. The ideas you find here are designed to add a little creativity in your day, no matter how much (or how little) time you have!
