We wanted to make my husband feel like a real MVP, so I picked up a display case for his new ball.  And who can cover that up with wrapping paper?  I just added a bow!

I still wanted to add a handmade touch to our gift, so I also stamped a metal blank with his name, and attached it to the base of the case.  (I’m not going to get into stamping today, but if you’d like to learn more, you can visit my beginner’s metal stamping tutorial for everything you need to know to get started.)

The biggest problem I had was, of course, keeping it a secret until Father’s Day.

I totally couldn’t.  

Rather than risk him seeing his surprise on accident, the kids and I caved, and we gave him his gift a little bit early.

Yeah.  I think it’s safe to say, he likes it!  (In case you couldn’t tell with him all clad in blue, even before he knew he was getting a gift.  Like I told you: die-hard fan.)  He kept saying, “Take another picture of me and my new ball!  Take another!”
